Who needs more energy?

Oils for motivation and energy

Could you use a motivational cheerleader each day to get you going, put some pep in your step, and help you move through your day with motivation and energy?

Mental tiredness can lead to difficulty focusing, irritability, and loss of passion. Lack of energy can be caused by a host of factors such as thyroid function and adrenal imbalance.

Mental and physical fatigue are common reasons why you may be lacking in the “Ra Ra Ra” department (hear that cheerleader??) but emotions are also large factors in finding our strength each day…to get moving inside and outside.

There are some great oils that can tackle all of this. I love to diffuse something each morning to get going and I also use a variety of oils topically throughout the day to keep me energized.

I keep the essential oil blend En-R-Gee in my bag for those afternoons when I feel a little sluggish. A quick dab on the wrists perks me up.

Greenwashing is NOT a good thing

Do you know what greenwashing is?

It is when companies make false claims of being a “natural alternative” for your home, but they actually contain ingredients that are the opposite. Look at the ingredients and do a quick Google search!

I won’t name names (because I’m not that type of person) and I think they had good intentions in the beginning but now they miss the mark.

When you choose “CLEAN” products, it is so important to know that the ingredients are really safe.

You do not want to expose yourself and your family to harmful things when you don’t have to!
This is especially the case if you have respiratory or skin issues like I do!

If you didn’t know, the Thieves kit (products with a plant-based formula that give an effective, deep clean) has all the basics for you to get started.

Here’s a list of ingredients that may have harmful side effects and you might want to think about replacing

  • Fragrance
  • Lauramide DEA
  • Diazolidinyl Urea
  • Methylparaben
  • Propylparaben
  • Benzisothiazolinone
  • Methylisothiazolinone
  • PEG-2 Cocomonium Chloride
  • PEG-5 Coconate
  • Trideceth-9
  • Phenoxyethanol
  • Sodium Caprylyl Sulfonate
  • Sodium methyl-2 lauryl sulfate
  • Sodium Borate
  • Disodium cocoamphodiacetate
  • Alcohol Ethoxylate
  • Laureth-7

Plus, there are so many different ways to use Thieves products. You can make the products last twice or even three times as long! So it’s toxin free and you are going to $$$$ at the same time! Win-Win!

Make your oils last longer

TIPS TO MAKE YOUR OILS LAST LONGER

When you look at the size of a bottle of essential oils, you might think,

“That is such a little amount of oil!”

I am constantly telling people to measure the bottle in the number of drops instead of ounces. A 5-ml bottle has about 90 drops and a 15-ml bottle has about 200-250 drops (depends on the viscosity).

However, there are other ways to make your oils last even longer.

1. Make a roller bottle. 10ml-sized glass bottles can be purchased inexpensively via Amazon. They have stainless steel roller ball top, making application quick and easy. Just add 10-20 drops of the essential oil of your choice, and fill the rest with a carrier oil like jojoba or sweet almond oil. This dilutes the essential oil but doesn’t reduce the effectiveness because one drop is so powerful. You extend the life of your oils and have a super simple way to apply them on the go.

2. Use the lowest setting on your diffuser. My Desert Mist diffuser (from Young Living) that can run for up to 10 hours! On the lowest setting, it cycles on and off at intervals, allowing the few drops that I put in to last almost all day.

3. Use diffuser jewelry to carry the aromatherapy benefits with you everywhere you go. Google search diffuser necklaces or bracelets and you’d find a lot of options to consider, including easy DIY options. I have made bracelets with accent lava beads. These hold the oil and it’s scent last a day or two.
