Cooking with Oils- Chicken Soup

My favorite comfort food is chicken soup. I do not consider myself to be a good cook BUT I love making chicken soup from scratch and it is super delicious.

I think it’s easy, especially because I don’t need to measure most of the ingredients. I add based on feel.

How many carrots do I feel like adding today?

Why choose Young Living

Story Time!

About 20 years ago, I was in a store called Burlington Coat Factory and found a small bottle of patchouli essential oil.

I read great things about patchouli and was excited to find it! I checked the packaging and the label because I wanted to be sure I was getting pure essential oil. Back then, I did not know that companies had a lot of leeway when they use terminology such as “pure“, “natural”, and “therapeutic“.

I opened the bottle and YUCK … I thought I didn’t like patchouli!

Fast forward to today. I realize that I didn’t like the chemically laced synthetic scent they were trying to pass off as PURE.

I’m so grateful for Young Living’s commitment to purity and quality. They prove to me time and time again that I can trust their claims and labeling 🌿…..

If you want a high quality essential oil, Young Living is the best option available.

Ubiquitous Fragrance Ruins Everything

F R A G R A N C E.

Candles, sprays, plug ins, hand soaps, perfumes, cleaning supplies, etc. all have sweet scents, but none of it natural . Ughhhhh!!!!

– The word “fragrance” can hide any combination of 3000+ chemicals that companies engineer in the lab. Cosmetic manufacturers do not have to disclose smells since that is considered a trade secret. Even many of the so called “essential oils” were lab created. Yupp…they are all fake.

– The majority of candles contain paraffin, a petroleum waste product. They are a suspected cause of cancer, can cause respiratory distress.

– The toxins released from candles are as detrimental as second-hand smoke.

Now, I use Young Living essential oils in a diffuser. Since I started avoiding fragrance, I have noticed less sinus problems. I thought I was doomed to a life of congestion. Not anymore!

Palmarosa and Lemon for your Laundry

I used to use conventional dryer sheets or fabric softeners because I equated the floral scent to mean my clothes were freshly clean.

I was surprised to learn that these things have ingredients that may be irritants or carcinogens (aka bad stuff). And after I started making non toxic replacements like essential oils on dryer balls, my skin had less breakouts! Go figure.

I like Palmarosa + Lemon on my dryer balls because it’s citrusy and floral all together. My clothes smell like spring 😊.

Fun fact: Once known as Turkish geranium oil or Indian geranium oil, palmarosa was used for centuries by the Turks to adulterate the more costly Turkish rose oil 😏.
